Position : Director of Channel Sales

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning (25%)

  •  Drive partner transformation and growth to prioritize and execute on new and strategic initiatives with partners
  • Build Consumer Channel Strategy by utilizing industry knowledge, channel insight and customer understanding to drive Consumer Channel growth
  •  Define strategies to compete and win share of partner business across all product categories
  •  Develop digital transformation approach in alignment with the overall Microsoft POV and support partners in their omni-channel evolution 
  • Drive Consumer Channel optimization and allocation of resources
  • Channel Management (40%)
  • Channel optimization – understand and assess the capabilities of each channel and optimize investment and strategy to maximize value to Microsoft and partners
  •   Orchestrate internal executive review cadence for Consumer Channel, including key account plans and performance
  •   Utilize financial acumen to drive win-win outcomes with partners that deliver growth and business results
  •  Develop deeper understanding of Consumer Channel landscape and prioritize accounts to identify key focus areas for execution
  •   Lead complex partner management negotiation
  •  Ensure alignment in approach for cross-border & cross-regional partners
  • Business Operational Excellence (20%)
  • Drive ease of doing business in alignment with CPE (Customer and Partner Experience) Survey results through timely issue resolution & partner support
  •  Execute Consumer Channel plans to agreed metrics and targets, and orchestrate internal Rhythm of the Business
  • Take active role in operational sales processes, understanding how CCSM organization operates
  • Leadership and People Development (15%)
  •   Develop and coach a diverse and high performing team while attracting and retaining key talent
  • Exert influence across functional and geographic boundaries

  • Apply entrepreneurial and innovative thinking to identifying and executing business opportunities
  •  Possess high standards for performance and compliance  
  • Ability to identify and influence multiple stakeholder groups, and navigate across complex organization

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education:

  • Higher University/College Degree required
  • MBA preferred
  •  Professional sales and negotiations training
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management platforms
  • 10+ Years Consumer Electronics/IT ecosystem experience with a focus on devices and services sales across consumer segments
  •  Deep understanding of consumer channels, retail landscape and impact of emerging trends
  •   Building strategic relationships and partnering with senior executives across various types of accounts, such as Consumer Electronics Stores, Mass Merchants, E-tailers, Distributors
  •  Consumer channel management with proven business operational excellence and sales results through joint business planning, landing channel strategies, account management, and performance monitoring
  •  Driving long-term sustainable sales growth with partners
  • Proven track record of successful people leadership and development
  •  Delivery on Quarterly and Annual Account Budgeted Revenue, P&L and Scorecard Metrics
